Krat started off as a small fishing village but began to rapidly expand once Ergo was discovered and the Puppet industry began to grow.   
Krat was originally a small fishing village. St. Frangelico founded a church in its lowest area, known as Moonlight Town. Andreus became a priest there who became widely revered due to his devotion and dedication to the village. When the Alchemists arrived, they offered to fund the Church in exchange for access to the village's Ergo deposits. Andreus accepted and the village began to quickly expand and the Puppet industry began to grow. Within the span of thirty years, Krat was transformed from a small backwater into a city that became known as "The City of the Future."
