Geppetto's puppet

Geppetto's puppet is the playable character and primary protagonist. It is an advanced Puppet created by Geppetto with the unique ability to tell lies and absorb Ergo.

Background

Geppetto's puppet was created by Geppetto after the death of his son Carlo. Geppetto first attempts to bring Carlo back were unsuccessful as the first body was unsuited for containing the Ergo required to power the P-Organ. After conducting further research he was finally able to create the most advanced Puppet he had ever made and successfully implanted to P-Organ into it. Before Geppetto could awaken it, he was attacked by the Mad Donkey and couldn't access the train car that contained his workshop. Geppetto's puppet dormant body was left in Geppetto's train car workshop until Sophia is able to reach and awaken it.

Story

Geppetto's puppet is in a train car in Krat Central Station when it is woken by Sophia, who tells it to head to Hotel Krat. After picking up Monad's Lamp and a weapon, it fights its way through the station. After leaving the station it encounters a Stargazer and continued to fight its way through the streets of Krat. It encounters the Parade Master blocking the path to Hotel Krat, forcing Geppeto's puppet to defeat him. Upon reaching the Hotel, Sophia tells it that it needs to lie to enter as the Hotel's defenses prevents Puppets from entering.

Endings

Real Boy: When Geppetto asks Geppetto's puppet to give up its heart, Geppetto's puppet complies, collapsing as Geppetto removes the heart and emplaces it into Carlo's body. This resurrects Carlo, who then massacres the survivors in Hotel Krat on Geppetto's orders. Geppetto replaces the survivors with puppet versions of themselves to act as Carlo's servants. Geppetto then departs, leaving Carlo with a letter revealing Geppetto will stabilize and rebuild Krat for Carlo and for Carlo to remain in the hotel.

Free From the Puppet String: Geppetto's puppet refuses to give Geppetto its heart when asked. A disappointed Geppetto then opens up a case and brings out the Nameless Puppet in order to take Geppetto's puppet's heart by force. While fighting the Nameless Puppet, Geppetto's puppet loses its balance and falls to the floor. The Nameless Puppet then attempts to impale it but Geppetto steps in and takes the hit. Geppetto angrily asks the Nameless Puppet if it was going to destroy Geppetto's puppet's heart. Geppetto's puppet takes advantage of the distraction and kills the Nameless Puppet. Geppetto dies in Geppetto's puppet's arm while cursing it as a useless puppet. Geppetto's puppet returns to Hotel Krat where the survivors thank it for saving them and stopping the Alchemists.

Rise of P: Plays identically to Free From the Puppet String until the Nameless Puppet is defeated. While dying, Geppetto notices that Geppetto's puppet is crying for him causing Geppetto to apologize before succumbing to his injury. Geppetto's puppet then wanders the Alchemist's base until it comes across a blue haired puppet. It transfers Sophia's ergo into the blue haired puppet, resurrecting her while Geppetto's puppet passes out shortly after. After awakening, Geppetto's puppet returns to Hotel Krat where the survivors thank it and Sophia leaves the Blue Butterfly's Letter on Geppetto's desk for it.

Trivia

• Despite commonly being referred to as P or Pinocchio by fans, it is never called this in-game. Descriptions, dialogue, and the artbook refer to it as Geppetto's puppet. Game files refer to it as Pino.
