Eugénie

Eugénie is a survivor of the Puppet Frenzy who operates the Workshop Union Storefront at Hotel Krat.

Background

Eugénie comes from a family of weapon makers in a country referred to as the Land of the Morning. She arrived in Krat with her older brother Alidoro, though he would end up abandoning her since he believed his presence put her in danger. She eventually joined the Workshop Union and worked there as a technician until the Puppet Frenzy broke out. During the Frenzy, the Workshop Tower collapsed and trapped Eugénie in the wreckage. She was eventually rescued by Alidoro, who lost a finger in the process. She would later relocate to Hotel Krat.

Interactions

Chapter I

You can trigger the first dialogue by walking forward from the Hotel Krat Stargazer, following the red carpet up the stairs and through a vestibule with a large entryway before Talk:

Eugénie

You're here to see master Geppetto, right?

Come this way!

Upon first Talk:

Eugénie

I heard about you from Geppetto,

but to see you in person... Wow!

You should take this. Geppetto left it with me.

You will receive and automatically equip a new legion arm, Puppet String. Upon second Talk:

Eugénie

The sound of it alone... the craftsmanship comes only from the hands of Geppetto.

You must be something else...

A custom arm from Geppetto himself is quite an accessory!

Oh! I forgot to introduce myself.

I am Eugénie from the Workshop Union.

I know my way around weapons of all kinds.

I'm sure master Geppetto would agree!

If any of your weapons need work, bring them to me.

Eugénie

A Stargazer is a survival device used by the Stalkers.

It powers itself by accumulating and absorbing Ergo spores in the air.

The Stalkers installed Stargazers all across the city.

Once they're recovered, we can put them to use.

The Stalkers captured a puppet to use for training.

Don't look at me like that -- everyone hates puppets.

Story

Geppetto's puppet meets Eugénie after entering Hotel Krat for the first time. She is excited to see one of Geppetto's creations up close. She provides it with the Puppet String Legion Arm.

After Alidoro is brought to the hotel, she becomes excited and tells Geppetto's puppet of how he saved her from the Workshop Tower. Eugénie eventually creates a set of gloves for him, and asks Geppetto's puppet to deliver them. If she finds out the gloves don't fit and Alidoro disliked them, she becomes confused and asks Geppetto's puppet to investigate him. After the attack on the Hotel, she and the other survivors barricade themselves in Geppetto's office until Geppetto's puppet rescues them. If Geppetto's puppet kills Alidoro and recovers his Cryptic Vessel, it can learn that the real Alidoro was Eugénie's brother.

Endings

• After the Real Boy ending, Eugénie is killed and replaced by a Puppet version of her.
• After the Rise of P or Free From the Puppet Strings endings, Eugénie thanks Geppetto's puppet for stopping the Alchemists and saving what's left of Krat.

Notes

• Eugénie is not her original name, as revealed in Alidoro's Cryptic Vessel. She was given this name by the people of Krat. Her real name is unknown as Alidoro was the only person to know it and the message in his Cryptic Vessel was too damaged to reveal what it was.
• She will react to the Greeting and Entreat gestures.
