Sweepers

The Sweepers were one of the two primary group of Stalkers in Krat, the other being the Bastards. They served as guards for the old families of Krat due to their shared distrust of the Alchemists.

Background

The Sweepers were a group of Stalkers that allied with the old families of Krat, after the Alchemists began to increase their influence in the city. They took on the motto "We always repay what is owed." They had a fierce rivalry with the Bastards, who worked for the Alchemists. As the Alchemists increased in power and the Petrification Disease spread, many Sweepers began to switch over to them. This enraged Veronique, the leader of the Sweepers, and she led a final attack on the Alchemist's lab with the few that remained loyal to her. She and the rest of the Sweepers were captured by the Alchemists and injected with experimental serums. This resulted in most being transformed into Carcasses. Veronique resisted transforming but went insane before being defeated and killed by Geppetto's puppet. Left leaderless, the Sweepers were mostly wiped out during the Puppet Frenzy.
